Square! cuts without the rails on a piece of 100 yr. old Shag Hickory that split over a house in Plumstead last year. Slow going with such dense, squirrelly grain, but it will slab nicely with an Alaskan later.
As much as I like working off ‘pony’ sawhorses, a bit of spread-fork hydaulics helps make for a comfortable waste high cut with a big saw.
Not exactly one per week, but I am making progress!..while temperatures read in the single digits.
